Through Technology have been awarded a contract to support the Department for Business and Trade in establishing the Fair Work Agency.
The Fair Work Agency (FWA) will be established as a new executive agency within the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) as part of the Employment Rights Bill. It will serve as a unified body for worker's rights, consolidating previously fragmented state enforcement and guidance functions into a single organisation.
The Bill is expected to receive royal assent and become an act of parliament in Winter 2025. and the FWA will subsequently launch in April 2026.
Between now and April 2026, Through Technology will work with the Department for Business and Trade, the Home Office and their respective suppliers to migrate staff accounts and data onto the Fair Work Agency IT platform, while also supporting the transition of business applications, delivery of new End User Devices and the move to a the new FWA organisational identity.
"We're delighted to be helping the Department for Business and Trade to provide a great experience for staff transferring in from other departments. Supporting fair work is important to us as a business, and this project will play to our strengths working with end users and multiple IT providers to securely and efficiently move data, systems and the business processes they support".
Fairness in the workplace and in access to work is a key interest of Through Technology, reflected in our sponsorship and support of the charity GoodWork. Our specialist team has mobilised and will begin delivery immediately, ensuring the Fair Work Agency is fully equipped to fulfil its important mission when it opens its doors in 2026.
We look forward to contributing to this significant initiative and to the positive impact the Fair Work Agency will have on workers across the United Kingdom.
