Social Value - Supporting Youth Football with Oakley FC

As part of our Social Value programme this year, Through Technology supported the Oakley FC Youth Football Tournament with financial sponsorship toward running costs and with running the tournament's IT across the weekend.

In the run up to the event and across the two day event we:

• Selected and bought the Tournify.com software to run the event, offering an improved user website and app for tournament attendees.

• Provided sponsorship toward the event running costs and 5+ days volunteering to setup and support the event

• Set up the tournament in the Tournify system for team registration the 140+ teams.

• Worked with the club volunteers to schedule 463 matches in 10 age groups (u7-u16) across 8 pitches over two days.

• Provided laptops, Wifi and a screen to run IT from the Control Tent;

• Drew up pitch maps, travel plans and other slides/signs for the event

• Manned the "Control Tent" over the weekend to track the progress and scoring for 463 matches over the weekend, display results and schedules on the event screen and app and answer questions from the public, players and team managers.

So much voluntary work and care goes into these prepping for and running these events that players and parents do not see. Supporting it is a fantastic way for Through Technology to give back to the community.

The excitement, enthusiasm and enjoyment of all the players made it a really fun and rewarding event to support and we look forward to coming back next year, applying some of our lessons learned and making it even better!
